    Dragon*Con 2011

This post has been updated with a summary of all the activities we're planning. Please get involved in one of the following if you're attending DragonCon:

Fan Table - Friday, Sept. 2th - Monday, Sept. 5th, 10 am - 8 pm, Hyatt, Exhibit Level
At the fan table, the goal is to promote Legend of the Seeker and Terry Goodkind books. We'll distribute flyers, show the DVDs, and run daily contests with very cool prizes. We will also have many giveaways and sell small items.

Volunteer RSVP (please sign up directly on the google docs spreadsheet)

    Cosplay Treasure Hunt (contest)
To drive traffic to our fan table, we're organizing a "Treasure Hunt" that involves Seeker fans in costume.

Game rules: each cosplay will have a stack of small tickets (similar to those you get at raffles) that they'll hand out to any Dragon*Con attendee that inquires about the Seeker cosplay/takes a photo/etc. Basically, with any interaction, attendees get a ticket.

The cosplay will explain that once you collect 3 tickets, you can redeem a prize at the Seeker fan table. We currently have a couple of dozens Omen Machine hats and playing cards, and other small items. The treasure hunt will run until supplies last.

We're hoping to get at least 15 people in costume to participate. More is even better.
Tickets will be distributed to cosplayers during the photo shoot on Friday evening, at the fan table, or anywhere else convenient.

Cosplay Photo Shoot - Friday, Sept. 2nd, 11:00 pm, Marriott, 10th floor
Join for a group photo. No need to RSVP.

    Costume Parade Group
    Saturday, Sept. 3rd, 10:00 am - 11:00 am

    Panels

“Seeking Goodkind” - Saturday, Sept. 3rd, 11:30 am - 12:30 pm, Hyatt, Greenbriar, Conference Center Level
14 novels, 26+ millions books sold worldwide, international fame, and New York Times Bestseller author. What is it about Terry Goodkind’s fantasy novels that continue to inspire and make us want more? Join the panel and the post-panel ConSuite.

“Seeker: Quest For Fantasy” - Sunday, Sept. 4th, 2:30 pm - 3:30 pm, Marriott, A704, Atrium Level
Legend of the Seeker set the stage for many of today's popular fantasy series like Game of Thrones and Camelot. Why after over a year off the air is this show still bringing in new fans and being seen by some as the best fantasy show?

NOTE: panels times & dates are subject to change.

    ConSuite - “A GoodKind Meetup” - Saturday, Sept. 3rd, 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
If the “Seeking Goodkind” panel is not enough, come by our ConSuite to mingle with other Goodkind fans, and enjoy ice cream and drinks!
    No need to RSVP

For questions and comments, please contact me via email at anytime. Thank you.

    See you at Dragon*Con!

Great news. (However, you just made it that much harder to make it through the rest of these months 'til September! ;-) If there is anything I can do to help, let me know!

With the Goodkind panel, let's hope the powers that be decide they need a Seeker fan table. It only makes sense. Do they allow tables who are chosen to share space with those who aren't?
Is TG going to be there? This sounds really cool. THanks

They might. In the application, they did ask if we would share a table with other groups.

Unfortunately, Terry Goodkind won't be there, but there was a post on his forum a while ago talking about a fan event. No details yet.

Kudos to Laura for helping to make the Goodkind panel a reality.

We are also hoping to do another live Seeker Cast recording again this year. We will cover both the books and the TV show so everyone can come and get involved.

As Laura mentioned the exact day and time for any Dragon*Con panels are subject to change right up until the con so we'll have to wait and see when all the events are taking place.

    Stay tuned.

As it stands now (unless I'm crippled with the plague or my car needs repairs) I'll be seeing you folks at Dragoncon!
When Seeker gets renewed, this will be me.

But that's the fun part! For me, anyway, not so much you guys :P

@sot_fan: I have a partially finished Zedd costume, but it looks so terrible I haven't gotten around to finish it. I'll see what I can to between now and September to get it ready

Even an unfinished Zedd costume would be epic!

With bells on people, with bells on. Save Your Seeker. 5 people last year was not enough, especially if you're going to be there anyway. I heard "Kahlan!" for days in my sleep. It's such a buzz! Come as a night wisp if you want, just come out. :-D
