oh man, i feel you kevin. i've read all the books prior to this bookie cast and i decided to get my hands on some audio books just to do something different. and i gotta say, it's a really different experience.
i felt the exact same way about the whole chapter/scene you were describing. the voice talent on my copy had a very neutral sounding voice so he portrayed kahlan's sighs and throat lumps very convincingly. and the part where richard asked kahlan to wait until he's back in westland before she takes a mate just killed me dead.
regarding the confessor's face, i personally haven't tried that. maybe because i'm a dude, IDK. although i constantly do richard's gray-eyed raptor gaze. hehe. got me into more trouble than i intended. LOL

I'm still with you guys on the read through. I'm on chapter 41. My favorite part of the book so far was with the shape-shifting creature and "The Companion" and Shota scenes. I had a hard time staying interested through the whole mud-people chapters. Anyway, I'm staying with it to the end thanks to you guys but I'm probably dropping out after this book is done as I'm anxious to get back to some horror/ghost novels. I will probably still listen to your podcasts even though I won't be reading along any more. You guys do an excellent job.
Good show guys! Although I'm on Pillars of Creation now I still love listening to the pod cast.
