Thanks, Darsue! Agreed. As Kevin said, it really showed Richard's strength of character when he is forced to step up when the two people who really had a clue about what was going on were taken out of the picture. It's when we see him becoming more than just a woods guide.

That's probably true although as Zedd pointed out Richard had always been the seeker and as such would possess those skills. He was able to find the snake vine on his own, figure out who the first wizard was before he was named seeker. Being forced to deal with things without Zedd and Chase would have created a situation where he would need to rely on his skills alone but he always had them...
