Favorite Richard & Kahlan moments from LotS

Hey everybody. I've decided to start a thread for all those R & K fans( like me) . It all started last night when we discussed favorite moments from the show. Here you can write , quote and discuss the moments between the heroes you love. Feel free to quote and discuss moments of R & K from the books, as well! Have fun and let everybody know which is your favorite moment between them and why.

I'll start us off: last night I rewatched episode 'Conversion' (season 1) and I almost cried on that part with Giller and those magical instruments (not sure about the spelling) he used to lets say torture Kahlan.

First of all, I loved the way Bridget played there. When DR touched her how she shivered with disgust. And then, even though she was in pain, that 'no' when she heard what was DR's plan ( to confess the Seeker first) was so touching and so sad. And then when she stopped that Con Dar thing and was so exhausted Richard got her a moment before falling and that worried look in hes eyes was great. Then they talked... they looked at each other...

I recommend to everyone to watch this incredible episode. As I said last night, as much as I enjoy the epic second season there are some things that I miss...

Anyway, I hope you'll enjoy this thread!

From Destiny, when Richard is checking out Kahlan and Zedd tells him, "None of that boy".

There are just too many but I would say the first one was probably what Necros just mentioned and my first big moment was when Richard defeated Fain in Destiny and Kahlan looked up to him and realized that he was indeed the seeker. Then later on when Kahlan was spent and was at the mercy of d'harans and Richard saved her again and as she looked at him and realized that and they hugged..first of the many great moments to come..

Mhm. I like that one too. I'm rereading WFR on the computer at the moment, actually not rereading the whole just favorite moments. It's so good to read once more about R & K and their relationship. One thing I miss in the show is their friendship - I love them in LotS but I miss their relation. That's why they're so good together, they don't only like each other sexual. I'm not saying in LotS there are only kisses and sex but they don't talk to each other. But I guess it's normal because after all, an episodes lasts 45 minutes - there's simply no time for that. Here's one good reason why I like how the show doesn't follow the books closely. I get Richard and Kahlan from both - from LotS kisses and action (not saying that's all though) and from SoT - the incredible relationship between them!

Very well put and yes I liked it better in the books that Richard and Kahlan established a bond of friendship right from the very first moment Richard saved her from the quad. The writers took a little different approach in the show but they did build the same bond between them eventually I think and taking Bound as an example the way Kahlan was always thinking Richard is in trouble when she got hurt or was about to die and the way Richard loved on Kahlan through Nicci..it was pretty much a testament to their relation-ship in the books.

yes that was the writers approach to their deep bond to each other - however as you are showing us yfaruqi their little chats and talks that they would have - alway gave us insights into their thoughts and feelings and let us witness them falling in love.

I like when in goodbye kahlan says: i can't live in this world without u" it's like she would say "i love u" - i think in the show i dn't hear that kahlan said to richard that she love him. or did she?

That was the scene that totally hooked me into the show. Here are these two people who don't know each other yet. They're working together against impossible odds to survive and defeat all of these Daharans. It's an incredibly traumatic experience. In most shows, the two people would just look at each other, but in LOTS, they hugged, which seemed a lot more realistic to me. After going through what they went through in the first two eps, a hug seemed exactly right. And it made me realize that LOTS was going to be different than other shows when it came to their relationship. I liked how the relationship was emphasized at that moment, rather than the mission or the action.

Not in that particular sequence in Light but she did tell Richard that in season 1 in Home..of course he was in the dreamworld at the time.

That's why the show may be called Legend of the Seeker and the primary story can be considered to be Richard and his quest but to me the reason I love the show is because of the relation-ship of Richard and Kahlan and their incredible bond among all the dark things that happen and in the middle of saving the world...

It's a pivotal moment for both of them..........this part of Destiny never ceased to capture my undivided attention and moves me deeply. It's like an epiphany........

I loved that scene as well...lurching loins!! LOL..........

    ----------

Denna - Richard asks Kahlan to confess him because he is afraid he will not be able to withstand the torture, he would rather be her slave than Denna's. And the most powerful scene in that episode was when Denna demands Richard to kill Kahlan. For a better of I don't know how long Richard and Kahlan lock eyes as he moves towards her with the knife. No words are spoken but the intensity of that scene was so thick you could cut it with a knife. The lone tear slipping from Richard's eye as Kahlan with her eyes on him tries to reach inside to find the Richard she knows is still there......it was simply a scene that blew me away. Gives me the chills as I think about that scene right now.......

So I take that everyone likes the thread. What about the books? Favorite R & K moments from there? There too many for me. My favorite book is Faith of the fallen but as I said today I'm rereading Wizard's First Rule so I'm just amazed at their friendship. It may sound funny to you, guys but I started reading WFR on April last year so it turned out I've forgot lots of things. Going back to reading now - when they talk to each other ( I'm reading the moment with the Mud people right now) that just warms my heart! I'm wondering what would my life be right now if I hadn't watched that first episode of LotS that started this madness! I sure learned very valuable lessons from the books.
