I thought the most important thing about this episode is what it taught Richard. It showed Richard that even the creator, whether she be fake or real, is convinced that the will and intent in Richard's heart is more important than any prophecy or plan that the Keeper may have in store.

Also, I often think of the show Angel when thinking about prophecy. In Angel, a time traveling demon actually planted false prophecy in order to convince a character to betray Angel. Why is it that no one mentions the possibility that this prophecy might be planted or part of the Keeper's plan?

Additionally, if Richard were to give the Stone of Tears to the Keeper, it would probably end up being for a good reason, such as a classic "lesser of two evils" choice.

Classic Free Will vs Fate debate. Seeing a lot of it in Supernatural too. Glad that writers of the show keep in tune with Goodkind's themes in the books.

It could also be through deception. See The Howling Man
