What made you pick up the book?

We all have our own reasons for picking up Wizard's First Rule for the first time. What was yours?

Mine: Looking for something new to read and stumbled into the "recommended reading" section of a bookshop by accident (no really, I stumbled). I spotted Wizard's First Rule, fell in love with the cover and the rest they say, is history.

I know you're not *supposed* to judge a book by it's cover, but Keith Parkinson did a great job with the covers.

I was actually put on to WFR by a girlfriend I had at the time. It was a long time ago and was a new release. That was bad for me as I had to wait for further books to be written and released (see: 11 times for my expination on that)

Ahh, that makes sense now (the 11 times thing).

In a way I'm glad I never discovered the series when it was just starting out as I'd have longer to wait between books; but there is nothing like the anticipation of a new book you're wanting to read.

It must be an Australian name for them. They are run by charities like the salvation army and they re-sell donated goods to raise money. I'm sure you would have them just a different name. Most Ausies call them op shops.
I bought a paper back copy of Blood of the fold (already had the hard cover version) in one. I got ripped off though. It cost me $1.50

I found Wizards First Rule in my local County Library, and devoured it. From then on I read every single one, as soon as it was published or availible in the Library. I went through a period of not being able to afford purchasing books, so I rented them.

I must say that WFR is only eclipsed in my opinion by Faith of the Fallen.

My boss was talking about it and was raving about the series. I had run dry on books to read so thought I'd try it. He's lending me the books and I'm still not finished yet! So it's all still new and exciting. I can't put them down and am going through at a good rate.

I did the same. After buying Wizard's First Rule, I proceeded to buy the rest and devour them one by one in a matter of months. I have a brand new copy of Confessor (which I think I'll give away for a competition on here... what do you guys think? Good idea or not?

I have two copies of the book. I bought one and then found a signed one on my travels in Canada...

I don't mind parting with the non signed one

I think that I had to wait from Stone of Tears onwards, however that might have been as I was at the time getting them from the Library. I know that I had a hardback edition of Temple of Winds, that I got the weekend it came out.

I then had to wait for each new book to come out.
