There have been some thoughts shared about creating a computer video game and I'd like to start a new topic to discuss the following ideas.

I think a useful approach in making a game would use the fluid dynamics of the Halo 1 engine combined with the graphics quality and other RPG perks of Skyrim.

I'm very experienced in making map mods and new maps for Halo 1, so I wonder if I could ask any of our computer graphics artists here to provide some 3d models of characters, "powerups" (such as the mrryswith cloak of invisibility) and weapons that I could use in gaming projects such as a mod and perhaps even the development of a new game.

I was thinking of contacting Bethesda Software to inquire if they would be willing to collaborate with Terry Goodkind in the creation of an epic single-player, cooperative-player, and multi-player game. I think this type of RPG would do more for the series if it were made before any MMO or MMORPG. An MMO/MMORPG would be more appropriate for prequel events such as the Old War and the events after the Chainfire event.

Regarding a mod for Halo, I just need 3d models (and optionally some voice acting) and I'm set and could probably put one out within a year. It would be a singleplayer campaign and a set of multi-player maps, a "complete overhaul" of the game content.

Regarding Skyrim, I haven't tried Steam Workshop and haven't searched yet for any existing mod fitting the Sword of Truth series theme. I think I would rather see some collaboration between Terry Goodkind and Bethesda or Microsoft. Microsoft is a bit stiff on the legal restrictions and there would need to be some collaboration to offset the licensing. (I can't see a company buying license rights for Halo, The Sword of Truth, and Skyrim; the related companies would need to collaborate instead.)

Therefore, I suggest that in the development of a new game, we see Bethesda or Gearbox/MacSoft taking the Sword of Truth series books and transcribing them into a video game. Later, an MMORPG can be made involving the events thousands of years before Richard's time.

For my part, I'm looking to license rights to the Halo 1 source code so that I can use that to develop a new Sword of Truth game. I don't have a studio for the work, and this would be mostly myself and some friends contributing to the work, so any contributions would be welcomed. (And I intend to contribute a large percentage of profits -- if there becomes a profit situation -- to LotS / SoS.)

EDIT: I looked into using Steam Workshop and the "Creation Kit" bundled with Skyrim to develop an environment world based upon the map and my imagination of locations in the Sword of Truth series. It is very possible and there are a number of modders who could collaborate in this. I would really like to see the engine updated though to work as the Halo 1 Combat Evolved engine works with player dynamics. I do think this project could do really well with modders working together, but I'd have to give some more consideration to which game engine to use, whether Skyrim or Halo 1.

I will point out that the "violence" aspect of these games can take a serious cutback. There is violence in the Sword of Truth novels, but it needs to take a real damper from where it is with Skyrim (where you basically go around killing almost everything) and Halo (where you walk along a glorified hallway -- a linear campaign path -- killing things and running to cutscene checkpoints on your way). There is certainly more involved in these books than can be transcribed using just the themes of violence in the games.

Halo can handle some rather complex graphics but has its own limitations in some areas and doesn't natively handle third-person view well. Skyrim I think is initially more difficult to handle for modding and primarily needs some player dynamics changes. I think that before I delve into Skyrim modding much further, I'll check out different techniques for bringing the Halo graphics up to where the Skyrim graphics are.

I'm posting this here first before discussing it in a Halo or Skyrim forum.

I'm going to start developing a Lots mod for skyrim. For now Im thinking about making each episode its own map(city and surroundings..or forests, whatever it needs.)I searched the web and I already found a Confessor and Mord Sith armor 3d models. One of skyrims many robes can fit zedds wit.If I remember correctly there is a hypnotize or something like that spell in skyrim. That would be the Confession now :)
Do you like the sword of truth?
